Anti-bacterial drug discovery, medicinal chemistry, fragment based lead discovery
Discovery of antibacterial drugs acting as inhibitors of aaRS enzymes, PLP dependent enzymes, lipoic acid biosynthesis enzymes, and efflux pump blockers and discovery of anti-malarial drugs acting as Plm inhibitors. Drug discovery projects are performed in collaboration with biophysical chemistry, bioanalytical and pharmacology groups at LIOS and other research centres. Our group provides synthetic optimization of hits originating from HTS, VS, FBLD and rational design as well as performs synthetic lead-to-CD optimization and scale-up studies.
