The course took PhD students and postdoctoral researchers from target identification through to lead optimisation, with laboratory sessions on mass spectrometry for proteomics and molecular simulation software. Participants then presented their own project proposals.

Speakers came from academia and industry, with contributions from Novartis and Roche, alongside scientists from across the EU-OPENSCREEN community. Among them was Olga Genilloud, Scientific Director and Area Head of our partner site, Fundación MEDINA. She spoke on the role of natural products in antibiotic discovery.
