After studying chemistry at the University of Münster and completing his PhD in organic chemistry at the Technical University of Berlin, Professor Hoelder conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley, in the lab of Professor Peter G. Schultz. He went on to hold positions at Hoechst Marion Roussel (now Sanofi) and Altana Pharma, contributing to both diabetes and oncology programmes, before joining the ICR in 2007.
As Chair of the SEAB, Professor Hoelder will lead the Board in providing strategic scientific guidance and ethical oversight to ensure EU-OPENSCREEN continues to serve the research community with excellence and integrity.
Professor Hoelder commented: "Chemical probes are powerful tools to understand cellular biology and identify new therapeutic strategies. EU-OPENSCREEN connects biologists with drug discovery experts across Europe and provides access to high-quality compound libraries, advanced screening platforms, and expert training. I’m excited to chair the Scientific Advisory Board and contribute to this impactful initiative."
We warmly welcome Professor Hoelder to this important role and look forward to his leadership and contributions to the EU-OPENSCREEN community.
